Connect Therapy and Thoracic Ring Approach

What is Connect Therapy and Thoracic Ring Approach?

Connect Therapy
ConnectTherapy™ was developed by Dr. Linda-Joy Lee to help therapists and patients understand the construct of connectedness of the entire body. It is a true whole body treatment approach looking at everything your body has ever gone through (injury, sports and movement history, stressful life events,…), as well as your current movement patterns and beliefs.

Connect Therapy addresses underlying non optimal movement patterns and aligns, improves and optimizes your body’s performance and well-being.
This treatment approach can not only benefit your current symptoms but also positively affects the longevity of your joints, ligaments and muscles. It can greatly contribute to the prevention of osteoarthritis and other repetitive strain mechanisms.

Thoracic Ring Approach

The Thoracic Ring ApproachTM is a way of examining and treating the ribcage (Thorax) in 3D, and part of the framework of ConnectTherapy. It is the most evidence based way of assessing your Thorax. Your practitioner will take time to map out each ‘Ring’ or functional spinal unit of the thorax and feel what your whole thorax does through movement. Treatment will include optimization of whichever aspects of your Thorax help to align the entirety of it and help you move and feel better.

The thorax is greatly involved in whole body function as it is making up approximately 40% of your entire body weight and builds the framework for important neurological connections to your digestive system, your emotional well being (vagus nerve) and the neuromuscular connection to your entire body.

Your Thorax is inherently flexible and uses specific neuromuscular control and muscle function for optimal functioning! Using The Thoracic Ring Approach, we aim to restore movement options and affect the entire body positively.
